At JB Hi-Fi, we’ve worked hard to cultivate an exceptional company culture for our employees, but there are certain realities of the retail industry that are unavoidable: it’s a fast-paced, competitive, and ever-changing environment, and there will inevitably be times of stress. Discuss with the interviewer the stressors you’ve encountered in the workplace as well as your response to stress.
“Stationary, inactive work stresses me out, which is why I switched from IT to retail in the first place. Since I began working in retail approximately three years ago, my stress levels have decreased significantly.
During times of extreme customer traffic, such as the holidays, I do occasionally feel stressed, but even this stress is enjoyable so long as I’m working with people who are committed to having fun while providing excellent customer service.
“I’ve discovered that retail is the industry in which I feel most comfortable and at peace throughout my entire career. In the past, unhealthy relationships between team members have caused me stress.
I find it difficult to concentrate on my work when there is drama between my coworkers. I believe I’ve improved in this regard over the years. When I feel stressed, I try to channel my energy into efficiency and positive interactions with customers.
What should I wear to my JB Hi Fi interview?
Appropriate attire for a job interview in the adjacent food court. Suits are not required. Just be you. As long as your hair doesn’t resemble a mop, your shoes don’t look like they came from the garbage, and your clothing doesn’t contain offensive words or slogans, you’ll be fine.
